How to set up special offers for your customers

Updated over a week ago

If you are looking to have some special offers, this can be set up via the back office. Once done, promotions are automatically applied to the order. This can be applied to both in-store and online orders.

The promotion name will be displayed on the relevant product title(s) and the total promotion savings will be displayed beneath the sub-total amount.

If the promotion includes a free product, the cheapest product will be added as the free item. However, multiple promotions can be added to a single product, so ensure you do not apply multiple promotions if you do not wish to give multiple discounts on a single product.

By default the promotions list shows all active promotions ordered alphabetically by name (A-Z), displaying the number of times each promotion has been used.

Check Show inactive to show inactive promotions and Show expired to show expired promotions. Search for a promotion by Name, Customer group, Start date and End date. Columns are also sortable.

Add a promotion

Go to the Promotions option on your back office account.

Click the red Promotion button to create a new promotion. You also have the option to view inactive and / or expired promotions by clicking in the boxes.

You will be given the option of 3 different types of promotions: Basic, Advanced and Bulk discounts. Click on the one you want.

Basic promotions will give a fixed monetary or percentage discount. e.g. £5.00 discount or 5% discount when a customer spends over £20.00.

Advanced promotions allow you to offer promotions such as buy 3 for the price of 2, buy one get one free, or receive a discounted item when purchasing certain products.

Bulk promotions can be applied when a customer wants to purchase a large quantity of a single product.

Complete the following information:

  • Promotion name - Add the name used to identify the promotion. On your POS device, the promotion name will be displayed on the product tile when the product is added to the order. On your ecommerce site, the promotion name(s) will also be displayed on each individual product page to indicate to customers a promotion is available. Keep it short, such as 3 for 2 on {brand} {category} or 20% off all {category}

  • Start and end date - Specify the start and end date in which the promotion is valid. If the promotion has no end date, set the end date to years in the future

  • Store availability

  • Customer group - If the promotion is only applicable to customers within a certain group, select a group from the list. If a group is not selected, the offer will be applicable to all customers.

  • Priority - Zero being the high priority, give each promotion a priority number in the event multiple promotions may apply to a product. The promotion with the highest priority will be applied

  • Promotion is active - Checking this option means the promotion will be valid to use within the dates specified

  • Promotion type - Specify if the promotion is basic, advanced or bulk. A basic promotion creates a discount and an advanced promotion enables promotions such as buy one get one free, 3 for 2 and 3 for £80 .etc

Make sure you tick the box if you want the promotion to be active or if you want to exclude items that are already discounted.

Tap Save to save the promotion. You'll now be able to enter the basic, advanced or bulk details for the promotion.
