You can offer customers multiple pack sizes of the same product—such as single units, boxes of 10, or packs of 50—while managing inventory from a single stock source. This setup is quick and easy from the Product Page in the back office.
Set Up
1. Go to the Product Page
2. Details Tab – Enable Auto Breakdown
In the Details tab, turn on the Auto Breakdown option. This allows the system to manage stock levels across pack sizes automatically.
3. Variants Tab – Add Pack Size Options
Switch to the Variants tab.
Click Add a Custom Option.
For Option Name, enter: Pack Size
Add each pack size you want to offer (e.g., Single, Pack of 10, Box of 50).
4. Define Pack Quantities and Groups
For each pack size option:
Pack Size Quantity: Enter how many items are included in each pack (e.g., a box of 50 = 50).
Pack Group: Use this to group packs that draw from the same stock.
Example:
You sell a T-shirt in Blue and White. Each comes as a Single Unit or a Box of 50:
Blue (Single and Box) → Pack Group 1
White (Single and Box) → Pack Group 2
This ensures the correct stock is shared between pack sizes of the same colour.
5. Stock Tab – Set Prices
Go to the Stock tab to set individual prices for each pack size.
Important: Select the checkbox next to the store(s) where the product will be sold otherwise the price field will not appear.
Stock Management
Stock should be assigned to the largest pack size (e.g. boxes or bulk packs).
The system will automatically break down larger packs to fulfil orders for smaller pack sizes.
Example:
You stock:
Then:
Customer A buys 1 Box of 50
→ The system deducts 1 Box
→ You now have 1 Box left (50 units)Customer B buys 10 Single Units
→ The system breaks down 1 Box
→ Deducts 10 units
→ You're left with 0 Boxes and 40 Singles available
