Learn how to set up your Dymo LabelWriter 450 and 550

Dymo LabelWriter 450 and 550

What's in the box? The Dymo LabelWriter 450 or 550, quick start guide, USB cable, power cable and power adapter. Labels are purchased separately, Saledock is compatible with the 57 x 32mm (11354) labels for your product labels and 54 x 101mm (99014) labels for your online order shipping labels. Please note: Only official Dymo labels are compatible with the 550.

Printer setup

  • Plug the power cable into the power adapter

  • Plug the power adapter into the power port located on the bottom rear of the printer

  • Plug the power cable into the power outlet

  • Plug the USB cable into the USB port on located on the bottom rear of the printer

  • Visit the Dymo website to download and install the latest drivers

  • A Dymo Connect app will be installed, you do not need to use this as Saledock has 2 pre-defined templates

  • Once the drivers are installed insert the USB cable into your Windows or Mac device. Important: Only connect AFTER the driver has been installed

Once the device is setup you are ready to print barcode labels from the back office. Visit the Batch label printing section of the Back office help centre to batch print product labels and the Shipping labels section of the Back office help centre to print shipping labels for your online orders.


Troubleshooting

If you have followed the above instructions and your Dymo LabelWriter isn't connecting, check the tray down in the right hand corner of your screen by tapping on the ^ icon. If you can't see the blue icon for Dymo, you will need to open the program.

If you can see the icon, right click and select Diagnose to find out what the issue is. If this doesn't work, or it comes up with an error message, close the program by right clicking and selecting stop service, then open it again. If this doesn't work, turn your computer off and on again.
