Product list
The product list displays all products within your inventory. Tap the All suppliers or All stores, option to filter the list.
Search for a product by brand, SKU, model no., product name and category. The Brand, SKU, Model no., Name and Category columns are also sortable. The last column displays a variant value indicating how many variants each product has.
The icon is shown for a composite product to represent a group of products rather than the number of variants. Tap the icon to display a quick summary of the product, including total quantity and total stock value. Tap the Product name to view the full product information.
Add new products
To add a new product, tap Product in the top right of the list. First, select the product type:
Single product - Standalone product with no variants
Variant product - Product with colours and sizes .etc
Service product - Service or labour. Inventory levels are not tracked
Composite product - eCommerce only. Collection of multiple products
Give the product a name then click Create or tap enter on your keyboard. Next, complete the basic product information:
Supplier, brand and category - Optionally pre-define these in the Product setup and Suppliers views. Select a pre-defined option, or start typing to filter to the list. If there are no matching results tap the Add new: [item] to quickly add the new option.
SKU - Auto-populated but can be overwritten
VAT % - Pre-selected based on the default rate specified in Settings > Tax rates
Name - Product name can be edited
Description - Displayed on the POS and eCommerce site
Tags - Used to created tag specific promotions, loyalty schemes and promo codes
Point of sale quick key - If selected, the product will appear on the first quick key category displayed on the POS
Image
Single or multiple product images
Drag and drop the images into the desired order
Hover over the image to reveal the delete icon to delete the image
Use this master image field if you don't wish to add variant images to each colour
Use this master image field for eCommerce users that wish to only display one product on the listings page rather than displaying one per variant. You can then add a master image which will be displayed on the listing page in addition to the variant images that will be shown on the individual product page itself
Tile colour - Select a colour to colour code product tiles displayed on the POS
Loyalty - Select to earn loyalty points for a product, and select to earn custom loyalty points for the product
Add-ons (single and variant products only)
eCommerce only - Give the add-on a name, select the type; custom or product. If product, type the product name and give a label. If custom, give a label which isn't related to a product. For each, select if the option is required
Add-ons are used if you have a product and wish to sell a product as part of the main product such as a bike with a servicing option or a useful tool/repair kit
Now, add further detail to the product. You'll see different fields depending on the product type you've selected
Single Product
Complete the product data which includes:
Model number
Cost price (ex VAT)
Barcode 1 - Auto populated by Saledock but may be overwritten with supplier barcode
Barcode 2 - Available if the supplier changes barcode
Google Shopping feed (eCommerce only)
EAN
UPC
GTIN
Shipping (eCommerce and back office POS only)
Width (cm)
Length (cm)
Height (cm)
Weight (kg)
Surcharge (£0.00) - Cost in addition to standard shipping rates per item
Collect in-store only - Enable if you wish to sell the item only but only allow the item to be collected, not shipped
Next, specify where the product is to be sold; in-store, online, across selling channels or all. Select the locations and a table is populated beneath. Input the following:
Sell price (inc VAT)
On sale? (discounted) - Check to activate the sale price field
Sale price (discounted) if relevant
Markup % - Read only view
Quantity - Click to view the audit of all stock level changes
Re-order point - When the product should be flagged as low stock in the low stock report
Ideal quantity - The quantity to automatically generate in a purchase order based on the difference between the current quantity and the ideal quantity
Click Save to save any changes.
Variant Product
A variant product is split into 2 tabs; Variants and Stock. Variants to define supplier information such as cost price and barcode, Stock to define sell price and quantity.
Variants
Specify the variants; type the colour or size variant and tap enter to create the variant (shown as a teal badge). To add custom labels, tap Custom options and give the option set a label then define the variants for the label. Once variants have been created, drag and drop into the desired order.
The variants table is generated beneath. Add the following to the variants:
Model number
Cost price (ex VAT)
Barcode 1 - Auto populated by Saledock but may be overwritten with supplier barcode
Barcode 2 - Available if the supplier changes barcode
Google feed (eCommerce only)
EAN
UPC
GTIN
Variants can only be deleted if there is no stock assigned to that individual variant.
If you wish to add an image for each colour variant tap the icon within the colour variant header. Add multiple images and drag and drop into the desired order. Only the first for each colour variant is shown on the POS.
Colour swatches for your eCommerce site can also be added under the variant image section. Either create a swatch from a variant image uploaded, or create a swatch from the colour picker. On your eCommerce site, the swatch is displayed on the product list page and product page to indicate a product is available in multiple colours.
Click Save to save any changes.
Stock
Next, specify where the product is to be sold; in-store, online, across selling channels or all. Select the locations and a table is populated beneath. Input the following:
Cost price - Read only view
Sell price (inc VAT)
On sale? (discounted) - Check to activate the sale price field
Sale price (discounted) if relevant
Markup % - Read only view
Quantity - Click to view the audit of all stock level changes

Click Save to save any changes.
Service Product
A service product is either a service you offer or a labour charge. Inventory is not assigned to a labour product. For a service product, add a variant (the types of labour), and the minimum price you charge for the service. For services, you may want to add these as Point of Sale quick keys for easy access. On the Point of Sale app, if a service product is added, the price and VAT rate can be overwritten by tapping the service tile once it is added to the order.

eCommerce details/tab
If you've selected your product to be available Online from the Stock tab:
You'll see an additional eCommerce tab, enabling you to add further detail:
Publish product - Make your product available to view on the eCommerce site
Allow out of stock purchase - Enable if you wish the item to be purchased even if it is out of stock
Enable in-store purchase only - Enable the item to be advertised on your eCommerce site but not available for purchase
SEO meta titles and descriptions - The information that appears on a search engine result. If blank, these will be auto-generated for you
Product filters - Filters are displayed on the product listing page on the left hand side. By default, price, category and brand are populated. Filters need to be defined in advance on the online setup page then applied to products. Please refer to the online setup help centre.
Product badges - Badges are shown on the product listing page. Badges are overlaid on the product image
Custom attributes - Add a YouTube Embed URL. A separate section is displayed next to the product description showing the YouTube video. Custom attributes may be used as a custom development field on your project but is discussed at the start of your project.
Add additional information? - Select to display another section in addition to the description. Add the header label and the section content
Google taxonomy and metadata (eCommerce only - Your Google Feed)
Select the Google taxonomy category. Google's complete list is defined here.
Gender - Required for apparel
Age group - Required for apparel
If you wish to add the EAN, UPC and GTIN information to your Google feed, add this information from the Variants tab for a variant product or Details tab for a single product
Documents - Upload a PDF or document(s) which is displayed as a separate section on the product page next to the product descriptions
Pre-order/Pre-release
Pre-Order - Marking a product as pre-order enables the customer to purchase the item but clearly displays a pre-order badge against the product on the product listing page, product page and checkout page. The Add to cart text is also replaced with Pre-Order. Set an availability date which is shown on the product page so the customer has sight of when they should expect to receive the order
Pre-Release - Marking a product as pre-release enables the customer to register their interest for that product (similar to the notify me feature). Set a release date which displays a countdown timer on the product list page to build anticipation for the product. Customers that have registered interest will automatically receive an email stating the product is available when the release date arrives
Shipping details/tab
For variant products, specify the shipping details for the product variants. The Name, SKU and Model no. of each variant is shown for context:

Collect in-store only - Enable if you wish to sell the item only but only allow the item to be collected, not shipped
Variant shipping options - Tap to display all shipping rates setup from online setup > shipping rates. By default, shipping rates will be charged based on the rates setup from online setup. Select the checkbox to apply individual rate to a product variant to override the default(s).
Useful tips
Product images
If a product image is added, it is sync to the POS and displayed within the product tile. For Unified Plans, the image will also be displayed on your eCommerce site. Multiple images may be uploaded per product, drag and drop the images into the the desired order of appearance. Only the first image will be displayed on the POS application. Recommended image dimensions:
POS only plan - Upload a JPEG no greater than 100kb. Preferred maximum width is 250px. Aspect ratio 3:4 or 1:1
POS and eCommerce plans
As the images will be displayed on your eCommerce site, the image needs to be higher quality. Upload a JPEG no greater than 500kb. Preferred maximum width is 1000px. Aspect ratio 3:4 or 1:1. Google's recommendation is 800px x 800px
A Google Feed is included as standard with your eCommerce site. Google prefers images on a white background, so where possible show your first if not all images on a white background.
For a variant product, images per variant can be uploaded once the variants have been specified. Please refer to the Variant product section below.
Copy to all feature
If you have many stores or variants, product information such as the price can be copied to all stores and/or variants. Tap the icon per field to copy the value across stores and/or variants. This will save time, rather than manually typing into each field.
Archive product
To archive a product view an individual product, tap Archive in the top right, a dialog is displayed asking you to confirm, tap Yes to archive the product. An archived product is only available from the Archived products tab and is not available to purchase via the POS or eCommerce site.
Products are not deleted so you have historical reference to sales data. You may wish to unarchive the product at a later date. Tap an archived product to display the product information, this is be a read-only view with the option to unarchive. To unarchive tap Unarchive in the top right and the product will now be active and editable. The product will be moved from the Archived products tab to the Active products tab.
Duplicate product
To duplicate a product view an individual product, click the then the Duplicate product option in the top right, a new browser tab will open with the duplicated product. All information is duplicated except for the product availability and stock quantities. Update as required and tap Save in the top right. When a product is duplicated the unique SKUs and barcodes are automatically generated.
Print barcode labels
To print barcode labels for a single product, view the individual product, click the then the Print labels option in the top right. By default, the quantity of each variant label to be printed is populated with the current quantity, this can be overwritten if required.
